HORTICULTURAL

WHAT IS HORTICULTURAL THERAPY?

The skillful use of plants and plant related activities to help improve motor, social and cognitive skills.

Horticultural Therapy is a therapeutic approach that leverages the nurturing and interactive aspects of plants and gardening activities to enhance overall well-being. By engaging in tasks such as planting, pruning, or simply interacting with nature, individuals can improve motor skills, boost social interaction, and stimulate cognitive function. This form of therapy is particularly beneficial in fostering psychological and emotional growth, as it provides a sense of purpose and connection to the environment. Whether for individuals with full mental awareness or those experiencing cognitive impairments, horticultural therapy offers a healing and restorative experience that supports educational, physical, and emotional adjustments, contributing to a higher quality of life.
